LUMENS HPL replacement OE Xenon HID ballasts is the best choice for consumers when comparing quality & pricing. All OE styled ballasts are built using the same digital technology found in our HID conversion kit ballasts. These ballasts are designed to consume and output the same amount of power as your original OE ballasts. We offer direct replacement factory style OE ballasts for many different applications. Simply unbolt and unplug the factory ballast on your vehicle and replace with the appropriate ballast from LUMENS HPL.

The Best Choice to Replace Your Factory OE Ballast
Physically, D1 ballasts look the same as D3 ballasts. Electrically, they are very different. D1 ballasts output 85V AC current to a D1S / D1R / D1C bulb. D3 ballasts output 42V AC current to a D3S / D3R / D3C bulb. Mixing D1 bulbs with D3 ballasts or vice versa may damage both items.
In the same manner as D1 and D3 ballasts, D2 ballasts look the same as D4 ballasts. Electrically, they are different. D2 ballasts output 85V AC current to a D2S / D2R / D2C bulb. D4 ballasts output 42V AC current to a D4S / D4R / D4C bulb. Mixing D2 bulbs with D4 ballasts or vice versa may damage both items.
What is the difference between the 'ballast' and the 'ignitor'?
It should be noted that the ballast and ignitor can be 2 separate components to Xenon HID systems:
1. Ballast - converts power from 12V DC to necessary power for the bulb
2. Ignitor - provides initial spark to 'ignite' the bulb
Depending on how the ballast / ignitor unit was designed originally, many times, the ballast and ignitor are 2 separate physical pieces. On other occasions, the ballast and ignitor are built into 1 physical piece and cannot be removed from each other. When the design reflects 2 separate pieces, the pieces will normally be sold separately.
Because D1 and D3 bulbs have ignitors built on the bulb, those applications would never require a separate ignitor for the ballast unit. Only D2 and D4 bulb types would require a ballast and ignitor, whether it's all in one unit, or if it's 2 separate pieces.

Can't Find A Direct Fit Ballast for Your Vehicle?
If we don't have the exact ballast you need, LUMENS HPL also offer generic D1, D2, D3, D4 ballasts. The generic ballasts are physically different from OE replacement ballasts and custom mounting of the generic ballasts is required. With generic replacement ballasts, the original vehicle connector may need to be modified to work with our generic ballasts.
Unlike our direct fit ballasts, these ballasts include: 1) the wiring between the ballast / ignitor to the bulb 2) 12V input wire and plugs into the ballast
