Xenon HID Conversion Kits

Single Beam Kits (View Below for Single Beam Kits with a DRL harness and Bi-Xenon kits)

1. I turned the light switch on in the vehicle, why aren't the lights coming on?

Unlike halogen bulbs, HID ballasts have polarity (ie. it matters which side is positive and negative). You can either reverse the pins at the vehicle harness to swap the polarity OR you can simply unplug the connector that goes into the metal connector on the ballast, and flip it around. Because halogen bulbs are polarity sensitive, vehicle manufacturers do not follow a standard on which wire is positive or negative. We've seen identical vehicles with wire polarities opposite to each other. We've also seen driver and passenger side plugs have opposite polarities on the same vehicle.

2. Why does one side not light up?

Check the polarity as mentioned in question 1. If it's not a polarity issue, it may be a power issue. On an older vehicle, power may be unable to travel properly through the factory wiring. If it's a newer vehicle, the bulb being replaced may have been a daytime running light, in which the current or voltage is reduced. To remedy either or both these problems, use our HDRL harness.

3. Why are the lights are flickering like a strobe light?

The bulb being replaced was probably the daytime running light, in which the current or voltage is reduced. To remedy this problem, use our HDRL harness.

4. Why do the lights turn on and off completely, on and off completely, on and off completely, etc?

Your vehicle has a CANBUS electrical system in which the computer senses that the original halogen bulb has been removed. To fix this issue, you will need additional resistors and an HDRL harness.

5. After installing the kit, there's a message or light on my dash that tells me a light bulb is out. How do I get rid of this?

Your vehicle has a light out indicator in which the computer senses that the original halogen bulb has been removed. To fix this issue, you will need additional resistors and an HDRL harness.

6. I installed resistors, why are the lights still not working properly?

When adding resistors, you should always use them in conjunction with our HDRL harness. Resistors should not be plugged in between the ballast and the factory socket. If you have an HDRL and the resistors installed, either the resistor is in the wrong place, or you need a different resistor.

7. Is it true that you should use di-electric grease?

Yes, you should use di-electric grease on all the connection points EXCEPT the AC wire connectors where the ballast feeds power into the HID bulb.


Single Beam Kits with an HDRL Harness

1. I turned the light switch on in the vehicle, why aren't the lights coming on?

1) Unlike halogen bulbs, HID ballasts have polarity (ie. it matters which side is positive and negative). The connector plugging into the ballast from the HDRL harness may be reversed. Try reversing the plug to see if that resolves the issue
2) Ensure that the HDRL harness has a good connection to the positive post on the battery
3) Ensure that the HDRL harness has a good connection to the ground on the battery
4) Check that the vehicle fuse is not blown
5) Confirm that the fuse on the HDRL harness is not blown

2. Why does one side not light up?

Bi-Xenon Kits

1. After installing the kit, there's a message / light on my dash that tells me a light bulb is out. How do I get rid of this?

2. Why are my lights not switching from Low beam to High beam?

1. Some vehicles require a series circuit to be complete from driver to passenger side in order for the high beams to toggle on. Because our Bi-Xenon kits only requires one vehicle socket as the signal to differentiate whether to focus on the high or low beam setting, you will need an additional resistor to complete the circuit on the opposite side of the vehicle (the socket you would normally leave empty).
2. Check to ensure that the connector that controls the high / low beam setting on the bulb is securely connected and that the electrical pins inside are not corroded or oxidized.

3. Why do the lights turn on and off completely, on and off completely, on and off completely, etc?

4. What are the 2 extra plugs marked 'H' and 'L' for?

These plugs are for vehicles that require additional resistors. If your vehicle doesn't require additional resistors, simply cover these connectors with electrical tape to prevent water & moisture from going in.

5. Is it true that you should use di-electric grease?
